Summer is here, and wearing a pair of sunglasses that you like is the choice of many outdoor experts. How can you configure a pair of comfortable sunglasses for yourself, and how to maintain your sunglasses on weekdays?

Common types of sunglasses lenses are roughly divided into five types: anti-reflective protective lenses, anti-blue light lenses, colored lenses, polarized lenses and photochromic lenses.

Anti-reflective protective lenses

This kind of lens is coated with a thin layer of magnesium fluoride on the surface to prevent strong light reflection, allowing you to see things more clearly without interference from strong light. To test if your glasses actually have anti-reflective protective lenses, point them at a light source. If you see a purple or green reflection, it means that the lenses do have anti-reflective protective coatings on them.

anti blue light lens

This type of lens is mainly suitable for blue light protection in rich blue environments. For example, if you work in front of a computer or electronic device screen for a long time, you need to wear anti-blue light glasses (typically Taimei anti-blue light goggles) to prevent short-wave blue light from damaging the fundus. This type of lens is characterized by filtering light based on wavelength, and only selectively filters out blue light and ultraviolet rays of a certain wavelength to protect the eyes.

colored lenses

Also known as "dyed lens", it means that some chemical substances are added during the lens manufacturing process to make the lens appear colored to absorb light of a specific wavelength. This is the most common type of lens used in sunglasses.

photochromic lenses

It is also called "photosensitive lens". Because silver halide chemicals are added to the lens, the originally transparent and colorless lens will turn into a colored lens when exposed to strong light, so it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polarized lenses

In order to filter the glare of the sun in the same direction on the water surface, land or snow, the lenses are specially treated, which are called polarized lenses. Best for outdoor sports such as sea activities, skiing or fishing.

common maintenance methods

1. Focus on protecting the mirror surface, because scratches on the mirror surface not only affect the appearance but also affect the comfort and vision.

2. Do not put the glasses in a very cold or overheated environment, especially in summer when the temperature is very high, and the frame is easy to deform.

3. Friends who drive must not put the glasses on the edge of the windshield. The lenses are easy to be damaged.
